Maria Claudia Marks was born and raised in Colombia, South America. Prior to settling in Northern Virginia, she previously lived and worked in Florida and Minnesota. Maria has been in the beauty and health industry for over twenty years. She has represented some of the most prestigious companies in these fields, working as a Beauty Consultant for Neiman-Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Channel, Sisley, Christian Dior, and the La Prairie companies. She has also worked with 'Cory Everson's Health & Fitness' and, 'Lady's of America Fitness' in Florida. Later on in her career, she founded Claudia Roldani Italian Design, manufacturering of fine leather goods to upscale boutiques.

Valuable experience gained while working with clients for the companies mentioned above, taught Maria about the many challenges the human body can face brought on by stress, chemical changes, lifestyle, habits, and other factors that impact our life processes. Inspired to find solutions, Maria discovered the incredible benefits massage therapy offers and how it can be an essential tool in a person’s healthcare and beauty regimen. Wanting to help her clients improve their quality of life and cope with her health issues, she returned to college and studied to become a licensed massage therapist. 

Maria graduated from Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) School of Massage. She was later certified as a massage therapist by the Commonwealth of Virginia and became a member of the Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP).

Additionally, Maria’s background as a certified fitness and sports trainer, provides her with a deep understanding of anatomy, injury prevention, movement and  recovery. This knowledge allows her to tailor massage treatments that not only promote relaxation but also support physical performance, rehabilitation, and long-term well-being.

Maria’s background in massage therapy, comes from working with healthcare professionals in clinics, assisted living centers, corporate wellness events, and athletic events such as the Marine Corps Marathon. She has authored case studies on the use of massage for treating Lyme disease as well as Achilles Tendon injuries. Her practical experience also includes working with patients dealing with a wide range of conditions including  stress fractures of the foot, arthritis, lateral ankle sprains, herniated discs, scoliosis,  frozen shoulder, and other conditions. 

Maria has been consistently praised for her dedication and for helping her clients reach their personal goals. In addition to her hands-on work, Maria remains actively involved in the community, participating in charitable and professional events throughout the Washington D.C. and Northern Virginia regions.
